PMF Mechanical invests in solar energy, first phase complete!

PMF Mechanical has been producing its own electricity since mid-March 2019. In 2016 PMF completed the expansion of it's Uithuizen manufacturing facility with the investment of a stainless steel hall and wharehouse, we are pleased to have now completed the first phase in our drive to the suistainability of our manufacturing with the installation of over 500 solar panels on the roofs of the new construction. With this latest development, PMF Mechanical is actively contributing to the energy transition and making a serious contribution to the improving the sustainability of the production processes (welding and machining steel) where a lot of electricity is used. The green energy will also become available to local customers and the general electricity market. The return in the first month has far exceeded expectations.

According to director Henk Slik, this project fits perfectly with PMF's ambition to actively contribute to a better and cleaner energy future. There is a plan for a 2nd phase where the capacity will be doubled. PMF will generate approximately 50% of the electricity needs of the factory in Uithuizen itself.
